Delegation Highlights Grassroots Women Building Peace in Liberia

Launching 2013 on an exciting note, JASSā€™ Executive Director, Lisa VeneKlasen, will travel to Liberia from January 19 ā€“ 24 as part of the Nobel Womenā€™s Initiative's (NWI) 18-women delegation: ā€œWomen Forging Peace." Led by Liberian activist and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Leymah Gbowee, and sister Laureates Jody Williams, Shirin Ebadi and Mairead Maguire, the delegation will meet with the grassroots women leaders from acorss the country, some of who have been the driving force behind the peace and reconciliation movement following years of brutal civil war.
