Hey good people I'm in the moon, screaming happy and sobbing because of joy that the has come for change. To you ladies I'm telling you change will come for us women to enjoy and exercise our rights in the way we were suppose to as human beings and more over as the special creatures we are. I miss you all, with love Londiwe

INDVOLU: A Phoenix Rising from the Ashes Experiences that connect us across continents can take unexpected turns. A community group from South Africa and a theatre troupe from Central America came together this November creating a connection that touched each of them profoundly and took on new meaning as tragedy struck.
JASS had a strong and visible presence at the AWID (Association for Women's Rights in Development) Forum held in Cape Town, South Africa in November 2008. JASS core team leaders Nani Zulminarni (Indonesia) and Martha Tholanah (Zimbabwe) were featured in the third opening plenary on the "Context of Our Work," and JASS board Co-chair Srilatha Batliwala and JASS Southern Africa activist Sindi Blose (South Africa) closed the forum on the final plenary.

Following the AWID Forum, JASS brought together its core teams and board for a two-day strategic planning meeting that integrated the insights generated from the dialogue and the Forum into a forward-looking four-year vision and plan.

Taking advantage of the presence of feminist activists from around the world at the International AIDS Conference (IAC) in Mexico, JASS convened a dialogue among women from Africa and the Americas – primarily Mexico and Central America – to share perspectives about the state of women’s movements in their context, the distinct challenges they face, and the new directions they see in women’s organizing.

Mexico City: August 7th, our last day together, was another action-packed 10 hours of motion as we tried to make the most of the conference and being together.
I'm sharing this space with my friend and sister activist, Sindi Blose, from Treatment Action Campaign in South Africa. She won't mention the fact that she did an extraordinary job of rocking the Global Village this afternoon with the rest of our women crossing the line. The songs and dancing drew dozens of men and women to our cramped site with huge enthusiasm and nothing but joy and appreciation for the power of their very personal stories of struggle.
