Community aqueducts in Colombia provide water to millions of people. In the National Network of Community Aqueducts, community members work to maintain access to good quality water in the face of the threats of privatization, pollution and depletion. For generations, women had to carry water from the springs or rivers to their homes every day. The construction of the aqueducts changed their daily lives by providing access to clean water in the home, and opening up their participation in community water management. The organization of the Network allowed them to face the unexpected challenges of the pandemic with creativity and solidarity.
