After several years as JASS Knowledge and Communications Coordinator, Annie continues to write and edit for JASS. In workshops and one-on-one, she aspires to train a new generation of JASS documenters to unleash their creativity while also caring about commas.

A writer, editor, filmmaker, and now knowledge broker, Annie has worked extensively in education and health, rural development, and women’s rights in Southern Africa. As well as making numerous educational and advocacy documentaries, she won commissions to produce television series for the South African education channel. Passionate about telling stories and constructing arguments, Annie has written school textbooks and adult training materials, photographic essays, funding proposals, film and television scripts, book reviews and reports of every kind.

After early studies in literature (a BA in English and a BA Hons in Comparative Literature from South African universities), Annie returned to school in the 2000s for an MFA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University, fuelling her fiction engines.
