Alia is a queer human rights activist based in the Philippines. Alia helps to ensure that the JASS Southeast Asia team gets adequate support in our various campaigns and programs as the regional program assistant.
Having worked alongside local grassroots organizations in pursuit of social justice, she continues her work as an activist and organizer in her community while broadening her knowledge on environmental policy and sustainable development in graduate school. She is also a licensed divemaster and enjoys taking underwater photos and videos for fun. With courage, revolutionary hope and a willingness to learn, Alia commits herself to being in solidarity with people, grassroots resistance: against colonialism, neoliberalism, and imperialism.
