A report prepared for the Economic Literacy Project, IDS.

This Partial Scan of Economic Education Resources is an initial attempt to identify and catalogue some of the many rich economic literacy resources that have been developed and used by NGOs, trade unions, social movements and others. While these resources generally share the goal of ā€œpopularizing economicsā€ and global economics in particular, these materials vary significantly in terms of their level of accessibility to grassroots audiences, their potential use in a learning setting and their easy connection to action. While some are more suitable for NGO activists or union leaders with some policy sophistication, others are suited for workers and grassroots communities with no knowledge of economics. Although some materials provide a useful, simple explanation of concepts and terminology for reference, others embed economic analysis and concepts in participatory learning processes more readily tied to action.
