JASS Southeast Asia Gallery

From June 17-18, twenty-five Southeast Asian researchers, human rights advocates, grassroots leaders, and activists came together for a conversation about the changing context in Southeast Asia and its impact on women, women’s rights and women’s activism.  

Southeast Asia celebrated International Women's Day on March 8 with a memorable bang!  From protests to parades, to cultural performances and dance-exercises, and to dialogues and discussion groups, women across Southeast Asia including, the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia and Timor L’este commenmorated this day with vigor and awe.



On February 14, 2013, people around the world celebrated One Billion Rising Campaign to End Violence Against Women. Given that One in three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime, this campaign encouraged women and men to stand up against violence. It encouraged everyone to WALK OUT, DANCE, RISE UP AND DEMAND an end to this violence. Watch women and men in Indonesia, Cambodia & the Philippines RISE!

JASS SEA Regional Workshop  In Phnom Penh, Cambodia - June 22-24, 2012 - JASS Southeast Asia's "landing the helicopter" workshop pondered how to deepen, understand and respond to power as 26 women from six Southeast Asian countries gathered to share stories and ideas on how to strengthen women's activism and JASS' role in the region.
