U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have launched deportation raids of Central American families seeking refuge from extreme violence. Pauline Martin-Alvarez is a professional with over 30 years experience in human rights, social development and leadership of organisational change processes. She was born in Belfast, grew up in London and began her career with World University Service (UK) working with Chilean refugees and as a human rights activist. She lived and worked for WUS in South America and then moved to Central America and Mexico as Oxfam’s Regional Representative for the region during the eighties.
