MEL and Grants Coordinator

JASS (Just Associates) is looking for a talented and experienced colleague to support the Southeast Asian team in proposal writing, donor engagements, developing  grant reports, and strengthening strategic relations with current and possible donors. The MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) Officer will report directly to the Regional Co-Directors.

Skills and Qualities 

  • Has relevant experience in MEL and grants management with NGOs (local, national, regional, or international) – experience with international organizations is preferred

  • Able to manage time, and perform and prioritize multiple tasks and coordinate others around deadlines with attention to detail and high quality project outcome deliverables  

  • Able to distil learning and develop reports and proposals focused on the impact of our work for a diverse range of donors and partners; able to share the complexity of our work in an attractive and creative way

  • Exhibits feminist and regional analysis and understanding/commitment to movement-building

  • Has proven ability to operate as part of a very collaborative regional and virtual team; prompt and responsive on email and phone or online communication is paramount, as principles of mutual accountability and respect

  • Able to use relevant softwares and applications for virtual coordination e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Office, Google drive, etc.

  • Can travel within the national territory and regionally.


  • Leads and contributes to the development and implementation of JASS Southeast Asia’s MEL processes, including the creation of technical design and methodology

  • Leads the data collection, storage, and analysis, and ensure information from M&E activities is properly analysed and written up for reporting and learning

  • Identifies key opportunities to provide and present E&L findings and data to colleagues to contribute to decision-making and strategic planning processes as appropriate 

  • Works with program staff to ensure MEL processes are understood, used, and deadlines for reporting processes are met

  • Leads the grant administration process, including managing reports and grant timelines and deliverables, tracking and monitoring budgets and grant commitments, and tracking grant applications

  • Contributes to regional and cross-regional donor reports, proposals, and related MEL and grant management functions
