In mid-September JASS Executive Director, Lisa VeneKlasen, joined 23 activists from India, Malaysia, Iran, Lebenon, Kenya, South Africa, Boliva, Brazil, the USA, Great Britain and the Netherlands to participate in a discussion about the evolution of social and gender justice movement strategies. Hosted by Hivos, The “Movements Rethink Journey“ as it was entitled, created a space in which activists could discuss, debate, and critique various strategies by drawing on old frameworks of activism, building on them and thinking about possibilities for innovations of modern day activism.
