Making Change Happen is a series of short publications about the strategies and ideas shaping social justice work produced by Just Associates in collaboration with various partners. Each publication takes on a different theme.
This volume, like the first, is the product of reflection, analysis and strategizing among diverse social justice activists and researchers from around the world. In the last decade, increased openings for civil society participation in economic policy processes have presented opportunities for economic justice advocates to make their case in a wide array of spaces—consultations on Poverty Reduction Strategies, WTO and regional trade negotiations, IFI risk assessment panels, and more. Campaigners and researchers share their experiences and questions on what campaign experiences tell us for connecting local realities and citizens to global economic decision-making processes.
