This is a brief recounting of how COPINH organised to trace and publicly reveal the web of corruption andcomplicity behind the Agua Zarca dam project, seek justice for Berta’s death and stop the dam, based on extensive research carried out by COPINH and key allies. In the process, the indigenous organisation was able to advance in holding international banks accountable for their part in the corruption, violence,destruction and displacement in their lands. Their story provides lessons for resistance against extractivistprojects throughout the world.
